3G
The 3G network is Telstra’s newest generation of network coverage. It uses wide band channels to obtain increased data speeds. The faster data speeds and higher capacity enables the delivery of rich content and video-based services.
The technology has been brought in to replace the existing CDMA network. There is no need for existing CDMA customers to be concerned about the change, CDMA will continue to be fully operational until 2008.
With the introduction of this new network, not only can you receive much greater coverage at home and abroad, you have access to a host of superb new features.
3G delivers video versions of existing voice characteristics including video calling (the person you’re calling will also need a 3G mobile), video messaging and last but not least video message bank.
