MERCURY CASE STUDY: THE DISTILLERY
An international leader in intelligence and investigations management applications, The Distillery designs and builds software solutions for intelligence driven organisations.
When The Distillery came to Mercury, they where in urgent need of a whole business telecommunications upgrade. The company’s expansion had been rapid and their telephone system was simply outgrown.
High on the priority list for the company’s new telephone system was a system that was going to stand up to the company’s growth, and be compatible with emerging telecommunications technologies. The company also wanted a telephone system that would enhance the efficiency of the businesses operations by streamlining internal and external client communications.
The telephone system that was recommended and installed by Mercury was the NEC IPS 2000.
The NEC IPS 2000 telephone system is easy to use with a simple one-button activation for voice mail. Voice mail on this system is IP (internet protocol) compatible, so it can be adapted for unified messaging.
The Distillery’s unified messaging solution of choice is Systems Solutions MESSAGEmanager. One of the benefits of MESSAGEmanager is that when a person leaves a message in your voice mailbox, it can be accessed by either your office phone or can be heard from your email. MESSAGEmanager can also be set up to have fax and sms functions from your email inbox. Conveniently, your voice mail messages can be easily operated from your PC no matter where you are in the world.
The company’s new telephone system has already delivered many business benefits and has the capacity to deliver many more. These additional benefits can be easily phased into the businesses operating systems.
One example of a possible future benefit of the NEC IPS 2000 telephone system, is that if a staff member can log onto a phone in any of the company’s international offices and instantly have access to their phone number & voicemail set up from their handset. Another advantage of this telephone system is its capacity to combine voice and data communications infrastructure into a single IP network. This further increases the flexibility and efficiency of the telephone system. Operating with a single IP network will also enhances the NEC IPS 2000’s compatibility with forthcoming advances in telecommunications.
We wish The Distillery every success in their future growth.
